San Raffaele International MD 2027: test fee, tuition and university

The admission test for the San Raffaele International MD cost €200 in 2026/27, and that single fee covered both online test sessions. The 2027/28 fee will be confirmed in the new call, which had not been published as of 24 October 2026 and usually comes out in mid-December.

Tuition and scholarships are a separate matter. They are set by Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele, and we have not found official 2027/28 figures for the International MD in the documents we checked, so we will not quote a number here. Below you will find what the test costs, what the fee includes, the other costs to plan for, and where to check tuition on the official site.

How much does the San Raffaele International MD test cost in 2027?

The 2027/28 amount is not known yet. The latest confirmed figure is the 2026/27 one:

This is not the same fee as the Italian-language Medicine test at San Raffaele, which is a separate test with its own call and cost €300 in 2026/27.

What the fee covers

In 2026/27 the fee gave you access to both test sessions:

• EU candidates: 14 February and 14 March 2026
• Non-EU candidates: 11 February and 4 March 2026

You could sit both, and only the best result counted. In practice, the second session is a second attempt you have already paid for, so it is worth planning for it from the start.

The test is taken from home, with remote supervision run by an external provider, Selexi S.r.l. There is no travel to Milan for the test itself, but you do need a home setup that meets the technical rules in the call.

Payment deadlines

The fee had to be paid within the registration window, which in 2026/27 was:

• EU candidates: from 17 December 2025 to 6 February 2026
• Non-EU candidates: from 17 December 2025 to 5 February 2026

The 2027/28 deadlines will be in the new call. Check the version for your group, because the two windows did not close on the same day.

Other costs to plan for

Official UniSR simulator. UniSR does not publish past papers for this test, but it sells its own online simulator: a free demo with 20 questions, then paid simulations. Check the current prices on unisr.it before buying.

Preparation material. The test covers logical reasoning, problem solving, reading comprehension and science (biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics), all in English. If you already prepare for other English-taught medicine tests, much of the material overlaps, but the format and time limit are specific to San Raffaele.

Costs after admission. Any enrolment payments, tuition instalments and documents to obtain are set in the call and on the university's pages. Check them before you register, not after you are admitted.

Tuition fees

We have not verified the International MD tuition for 2027/28 from an official source, so we do not give a figure. Fees are decided by the university and can change from year to year. Before you apply, check the International MD Program admissions page and the call for your group, and look for the amount, the instalment dates and whether it changes with income or nationality.

Scholarships and financial aid

The same applies to scholarships: we have no official 2027/28 information on grants or fee reductions specific to the International MD, and we do not want to guess. Ask UniSR directly or check the official admissions page.

About the university

The International MD Program is the single-cycle degree in Medicine and Surgery taught entirely in English at Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele, a private university in Milan.

Because it is private, admission does not go through the national procedure used by Italian public universities. This means:

• the university writes its own call and sets its own test
• the fee and the tuition are decided by the university
• dates follow UniSR's own calendar, usually with the call in December and the tests in February and March
• there are separate rankings for EU and non-EU candidates, and admission depends only on your position in the UniSR ranking for your group

In 2026/27 there were 150 places: 86 for EU candidates and 64 for non-EU candidates.

Other English-taught medicine tests in Italy

San Raffaele is not the only option. Many students also look at IMAT (for public universities), Humanitas, Cattolica and UniCamillus, which all have English-taught medicine programmes with their own tests, fees and calendars. If you apply to more than one, add up the fees and check that the test dates do not overlap.
