UniCamillus Medicine and Surgery in English 2026/27: What's New
UniCamillus Medicine and Surgery in English 2026/27: no more maths, 45 science questions, the 19 November test, 66 seats and the deadline to apply.
For the 2026/27 academic year, UniCamillus has changed the content of its admission test for Medicine and Surgery taught in English. The format is the same: 60 questions in 60 minutes, taken from home. What changes is the mix of questions: maths is gone, and the science section is now much bigger.
This guide explains what is new compared with 2025/26, when the next test takes place and how to adjust your preparation. It covers the call for Italian, EU and equivalent candidates at the Rome campus. Non-EU candidates have a separate call, which is not covered here.
All information comes from the official UniCamillus calls for the 2026/27 academic year, the latest being Rector's Decree (DR) no. 639 of 5 October 2026.
The next test: 19 November 2026
The 2026/27 admissions are still open. The latest call, DR 639 of 5 October 2026, sets one more test date:
- Registration: by 1:00 PM on 16 November 2026
- Admission test: 19 November 2026
- Results: by 25 November 2026
- Seats: 66 for Italian, EU and equivalent candidates
- Registration fee: €180
The 66 seats are the ones still available after the earlier rounds of the same year. The university reserves the right to hold further sessions.
What changes in 2026/27: no more maths
The biggest change is in the structure of the test. Up to 2025/26 the 60 questions were split like this:
- 15 questions on logical reasoning and reading comprehension
- 35 science questions: 10 biology, 10 chemistry, 10 physics and 5 maths
- 10 questions on humanitarian topics linked to the UniCamillus mission
From 2026/27 the split is:
- 10 questions on logical reasoning and reading comprehension, counted together
- 45 science questions: 15 biology, 15 chemistry and 15 physics
- 5 questions on humanitarian topics linked to the UniCamillus mission
| Section | 2025/26 | 2026/27 |
|---|---|---|
| Logical reasoning and reading comprehension | 15 | 10 |
| Biology | 10 | 15 |
| Chemistry | 10 | 15 |
| Physics | 10 | 15 |
| Maths | 5 | 0 |
| Humanitarian mission | 10 | 5 |
| Total | 60 | 60 |
In short: maths disappears, the science questions go from 35 to 45, logic and comprehension drop from 15 to 10, and the humanitarian questions drop from 10 to 5. Maths is not listed in the test programme either (Annex A of the call). The new structure already applied to the first 2026/27 call, DR 52 of 30 January 2026. The calls do not explain the reason for the change.

What stays the same
The rest of the test works as before:
- 60 questions in English, 60 minutes
- 5 answer options, only one correct
- Scoring: +1.5 for a correct answer, -0.25 for a wrong answer, 0 for a blank; maximum 90 points
- The test is home-based, with a remote supervision platform; for 2026/27 it is prepared by Selexi
- Registration fee of €180
To be eligible you need at least 10% of the maximum score, that is 9 out of 90. Eligible candidates are then ranked in a merit list, and the available seats go to the highest scores.
Four calls in the year, fewer seats each time
UniCamillus does not hold a single test per year. It publishes several calls for the same academic year, and each new call offers the seats left over from the previous ones. That is why the seats of the different calls cannot be added together.
| Call (2026/27) | Test date | Seats |
|---|---|---|
| DR 52 of 30 January 2026 | 19 March 2026 | 425 |
| DR 193 of 13 April 2026 | 19 May 2026 | 120 |
| DR 473 of 23 July 2026 | 21 September 2026 | 92 |
| DR 639 of 5 October 2026 | 19 November 2026 | 66 |
In 2025/26 there were also four calls, with tests in March, July, September and December 2025. The first call offered 425 seats, followed by 246, 209 and 182.
The difference in 2026/27 is the timing and how fast the seats go: tests moved to March, May, September and November, and the seats fell from 425 to 66 in the same academic year. Most places are taken in the first round in March.
Who can apply
The call is open to Italian, EU and equivalent candidates who have, or are about to obtain, one of these:
- an Italian secondary school diploma (students in their final year can also apply)
- a foreign qualification obtained after at least 12 years of schooling, with a declaration of value
How these changes affect your preparation
If you studied with materials built on the 2025/26 calls or earlier, check them: they include 5 maths questions and 15 logic questions, which no longer match the test.
- Biology, chemistry and physics are now 45 questions out of 60. Each of them is worth as much as the whole logic section was before, so give them most of your study time.
- Logic and reading comprehension are only 10 questions, but they still count. Keep them in your weekly routine.
- The humanitarian section is down to 5 questions. Read about the UniCamillus mission, but do not spend too long on it.
- A wrong answer costs 0.25 points. Leave a question blank when you cannot rule out any option.
- With 60 questions in 60 minutes you have about one minute per question, so practise against the clock.
Since the test is taken from home, also check your setup before the test day, following the instructions in the call.
For extra practice you can use the simulations of the UniCamillus Medicine and Surgery (English) course in the TestBuddy app.
What about 2027/28?
After the 19 November 2026 test, the next edition is the 2027/28 academic year. The new call is not out yet. As an estimate based on one year only: the first 2026/27 call was published on 30 January 2026, so the first 2027/28 call could arrive around the end of January 2027. Until then, the rules of the 2026/27 calls are the latest official reference.
