When preparing for the UniCamillus admission test for Medicine and Surgery in Italian, one of the most common and important questions is very simple: what do you actually need on test day, and what is strictly forbidden.
It sounds straightforward, but this test is not taken on campus. It is held online from home, and that completely changes how students must get ready.

In this guide we clearly explain what to bring on the day of the test, how to properly set up your exam environment, which documents are mandatory, which tools are allowed, and which mistakes can lead to immediate exclusion.
The goal is to help students reach exam day knowing exactly what to do, without confusion and without unnecessary stress.

Identity document: the one essential item

A valid identity document is the single most important item on test day.
It is required for the mandatory identification procedure, which takes place before the exam starts via webcam.

During identification, the candidate must show the document to the camera and allow the capture of both the document image and a facial photo.
Anyone without a valid document, or unable to complete this step correctly, will not be admitted to the test.

The document must be readable, undamaged, and not expired.
No substitute declarations or alternative documents are accepted on exam day.

Computer: the test is taken only from here

The UniCamillus test can only be taken using a personal computer.
The computer must have a working webcam and microphone, both of which are used throughout the exam for remote proctoring.

All technical checks must be completed successfully in the days before the test, using the required browser.
Shared computers, public workstations, or unverified configurations are not allowed.

During the exam, the computer must remain the only active screen.
External monitors or additional displays are strictly forbidden.

Smartphone or tablet: required for surveillance

In addition to the computer, a smartphone or, alternatively, a tablet is mandatory.
This device is not used to answer questions but for environmental surveillance.

The required application must be installed following the official instructions.
During the test, the smartphone or tablet is positioned behind the candidate, framing the workstation, computer, and surrounding area.

A tablet is allowed only as a replacement for the smartphone, never as a replacement for the computer.

Stable and continuous internet connection

A stable internet connection is essential on test day.
It must support uninterrupted audio and video streaming for the entire duration of the exam.

The candidate is fully responsible for the quality of their connection.
If the connection prevents proper monitoring of the environment, the test may be terminated and the candidate excluded.

For this reason, technical preparation is part of exam preparation.
It is also one of the main sources of anxiety, which is why training under realistic conditions during study is so important.

Blank sheets and pen: allowed with strict rules

Candidates are allowed to use a maximum of 2 blank sheets of paper and one pen.
The sheets must be completely blank, with no writing or markings before the exam.

They may only be used after authorization from the remote proctor.
At the end of the test, candidates may be asked to show the sheets on camera.

Any paper other than what is permitted, or pre written material, results in exclusion.

What is strictly forbidden during the test

The rules clearly state what must not be present in the exam room or used during the test.

Forbidden items include smartwatches, digital watches, calculators, earphones, earplugs, books, notes, handouts, and any study materials.
Any electronic device not explicitly required is also prohibited.

Opening other applications, browser tabs, or websites outside the exam platform is not allowed.
Speaking out loud, interacting with other people, or leaving the room, even briefly, is forbidden.

The presence of any third person in the room leads to immediate exclusion.

Official communications: keep them accessible

In the days leading up to the test, candidates receive official emails containing instructions, access links, and the exact connection time.

These communications must be kept and easily accessible on exam day.
Spam folders should always be checked.

If an email is missing, the official instructions provide a direct contact to request a resend.

How to truly prepare for this type of exam

Knowing what to bring is only part of the preparation.
The UniCamillus test is a timed exam with strict rules and a technical setup that can increase pressure.

Training with realistic simulations, strict timing, and the same structure as the actual test helps students arrive on exam day already familiar with the experience.
This is exactly where tools like TestBuddy become useful: not just for studying subjects, but for getting used to the test format, tracking progress, and reducing performance anxiety.
