IMAT 2025 Test Venues: All the Information on Each University

The Ministry of Universities and Research has published the official seat allocations for the 2025–26 academic year for the IMAT (International Medical Admissions Test).

These apply to EU candidates, non-EU candidates residing in Italy, and non-EU candidates residing abroad.

For Medicine and Surgery (LM-41), the available places for non-EU candidates residing abroad and for EU plus non-EU candidates in Italy are as follows:

  • University of Bari: 11 seats abroad, 69 in Italy.
  • University of Bologna: 20 seats abroad, 130 in Italy.
  • University of Cagliari: 20 seats abroad, 80 in Italy.
  • University of Campania “L. Vanvitelli” in Naples: 50 abroad, 60 in Italy.
  • University of Catania: 60 abroad, none for Italy.
  • Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Bolzano: 10 abroad, 50 in Italy.
  • Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Rome: 70 abroad, 40 in Italy.
  • Humanitas University in Pieve Emanuele: first programme 20 abroad, 80 in Italy; second programme 50 abroad, 150 in Italy.
  • University of Messina: 56 abroad, 55 in Italy.
  • University of Milan: 15 abroad, 55 in Italy.
  • University of Milano-Bicocca in Bergamo: 18 abroad, 30 in Italy.
  • University of Naples Federico II: 45 abroad, 25 in Italy.
  • University of Padua in Venice: 25 abroad, 75 in Italy.
  • University of Parma in Piacenza: 45 abroad, 75 in Italy.
  • University of Pavia: 40 abroad, 103 in Italy.
  • Marche Polytechnic University in Ancona: 60 abroad, 20 in Italy.
  • Sapienza University of Rome (site F): 13 abroad, 45 in Italy.
  • University of Rome “Tor Vergata”: 20 abroad, 60 in Italy.
  • University of Tirana (pending accreditation): 150 abroad, none for Italy.
  • University of Turin in Orbassano: 32 abroad, 70 in Italy.
  • San Raffaele University (UNISR) in Milan: 64 abroad, 86 in Italy.
  • Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome: 36 abroad, 84 in Italy.
  • Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome – MedTech: 12 abroad, 68 in Italy.

For Veterinary Medicine (LM-42), the University of Bologna at Ozzano dell’Emilia (pending accreditation) offers 5 seats for non-EU candidates abroad and 45 for EU plus non-EU candidates in Italy.

For Dentistry and Dental Prosthodontics (LM-46), Sapienza University of Rome offers 6 seats abroad and 19 in Italy, while the University of Siena offers 2 abroad and 33 in Italy.

Some venues, such as Tirana and Ozzano dell’Emilia, are still awaiting final accreditation. The IMAT remains the official entry route for English-taught medical programmes in Italy, and this allocation gives prospective students a clear overview to plan their applications effectively.
