The Ministry of Universities and Research has today published the official 2025 syllabus for admission to the master’s degree courses in Medicine and Surgery (LM-41), Dentistry and Dental Prosthodontics (LM-46), and Veterinary Medicine (LM-42) taught in English.
The exam will assess not only academic knowledge but also reasoning skills, comprehension abilities, and general culture.
All questions will be in English, and candidates will need to interpret both verbal and symbolic language.
Topics
Reading and Comprehension Skills
You must be able to understand written English texts of different types and purposes, including abstract, technical, and less common vocabulary. You should identify textual cohesion and coherence, extract specific information, and interpret meaning. The reading materials may include scientific essays, classical or modern literature, and current affairs articles. General knowledge questions will also cover history, geography, institutions, law, economics, and citizenship.
Logical Reasoning and Problem-Solving
This part evaluates your ability to complete reasoning processes coherently, based on given premises, whether expressed verbally or symbolically. Problems may be abstract or practical and require various logical approaches.
Biology
Key topics include: the chemistry of life; organic molecules and enzymes; cell structure and functions; prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells; viruses; cell cycle, mitosis, and meiosis; reproduction and heredity; Mendelian and molecular genetics; human genetics; mutations and evolution; biotechnology; human and animal anatomy and physiology; bioenergetics and energy processes like photosynthesis and respiration.
Chemistry
You will need knowledge of: matter and its states; the periodic table and atomic structure; chemical bonding; inorganic nomenclature; reactions and stoichiometry; solutions and their properties; acids, bases, and pH; oxidation-reduction; fundamentals of organic chemistry including hydrocarbons and functional groups.
Mathematics
Expect questions on: number sets; algebra; equations and inequalities; functions and their graphs; geometry in the plane; trigonometry; Cartesian coordinates; conic sections; Euclidean theorems; probability and statistics.
Physics
The syllabus includes: physical quantities and measurement; kinematics and dynamics; fluid mechanics; thermodynamics; electricity and magnetism; conservation principles; and basic wave and oscillation theory.
