Yes — if you are under 18 on the day of the test, you will usually be asked to bring a signed parental/guardian consent form. This is not something provided directly by Universitaly. Instead, the requirement (and the exact form) depends on the test centre where you are sitting IMAT.

Who provides the form?

  • Universities in Italy: If you’re sitting IMAT at an Italian university, that university provides its own version of the consent form. You can normally find it on their admissions portal or in your confirmation email.
  • British Council centres abroad: Many IMAT sessions outside Italy are hosted by the British Council. In this case, candidates under 18 must bring the Child Safe Collection / Under-18 Consent Form. Each British Council office publishes its own version of the document. You can download it from the exams section of your local British Council website, or it may be attached to your booking confirmation.

Where to find the form

  • Check the website of your test centre (university or British Council office).
  • Read carefully the booking confirmation email — the form is often attached.
  • If you cannot find it, contact your venue’s admissions office or British Council exams team for the official PDF.

Why is this important?

Without the signed form, under-18 candidates may not be allowed to sit the exam. Each centre is strict on this rule to comply with child-safety regulations.

Key takeaway

There is no single universal “IMAT parental consent form.” The correct document always comes from your chosen test centre. If you’re under 18, make sure to download, print, and bring the version required by your venue on test day.
