What do you need on the day of the San Raffaele International MD test? A bag with pens and a calculator, or something else entirely? In 2026/27 the test was taken online from home, so the honest answer is that what you "bring" is mostly your own workstation and room.

In this guide we stick to what the official sources confirm, and we point out clearly what you must read in the call yourself. The 2027/28 call is not out yet (it usually comes out in mid-December 2026), so the details below refer to 2026/27. Also note that this is a different test from the [Italian-language Medicine and Surgery test at San Raffaele](https://testbuddy.it/test-universita-private/san-raffaele/guida-completa), which has its own call and its own rules.

## The test is at home, so your setup is what counts

In 2026/27 the International MD test was held online from home, in two sessions, and the better score counted. The provider that runs the test and the remote proctoring is Selexi S.r.l.

This changes the usual checklist. Nobody checks a bag at the door; instead, a proctor watches you through the platform. Your computer, your internet connection and the room you sit in are all part of the exam.

## What the official sources confirm

Here is what we can state with certainty for 2026/27:

- **Registration and fee before the test.** You could only sit the test if you had applied and paid the €200 fee, which covered both sessions. For EU candidates applications ran from 17 December 2025 to 6 February 2026; for non-EU candidates they closed on 5 February 2026.
- **Two session dates.** EU candidates sat the test on 14 February and 14 March 2026; non-EU candidates on 11 February and 4 March 2026. You could sit one or both.
- **80 minutes of questions, then more.** The test has 60 questions in 80 minutes. After the time is up there are 7 reserve questions that do not count, so plan to stay at your desk beyond the 80 minutes.
- **Everything in English.** All 60 questions are in English.
- **Reserve sessions only for technical problems.** In 2026/27 there were extra sessions only for documented technical problems: 18 February and 18 March 2026 for EU candidates, 16 February and 9 March 2026 for non-EU candidates.
- **Calculator.** The 2026/27 call allowed a non-scientific calculator only as an accommodation for candidates with a certified disability or learning disorder (DSA), not for everyone.
- **English certificate for enrolment.** To enrol after admission you need an official English language certificate at level C1 of the CEFR (2026/27 call for EU candidates, general information). Get it, or plan for it, early: it is required to enrol, not to sit the test.

## What you must check in the call

The sources we used do not list the technical and identification rules for this test, so we will not guess them. Before each session, open the call for admission and look for the answers to these questions:

- Which identity document is accepted, and how is identification done at the start?
- Which computer, operating system and browser can you use, and is any software to install?
- Is a webcam, a microphone or a second device required?
- What internet speed is needed, and is there a technical check to complete in advance?
- What is allowed on the desk, and is paper or any other material permitted?
- What does the room need to look like, and can anyone else be present?
- What happens if you lose connection during the test?

The call for 2027/28 may change any of these points, so read the new one as soon as it is published rather than relying on last year's.

## Prepare your room and computer early

Even without the exact list in front of you, some steps make sense for any proctored test from home:

- Choose a quiet room where you will not be interrupted for the whole session.
- Use a computer you control, keep it plugged in, and close everything you do not need.
- Test your connection in the same room where you will sit the exam.
- Keep your phone out of reach unless the call says otherwise.

Then compare your setup with the call line by line. If something does not match, fix it days before, not on the morning of the test.

## Two sessions, two checks

Since there are two sessions, you need to get your setup right twice. A problem that went unnoticed in the first session can still be fixed before the second. After the first session, write down anything that slowed you down, technical or not, and sort it out in the weeks before the second.

## Knowing the rules removes stress

When the logistics are clear, your attention can go where it belongs: 60 questions, 80 minutes and negative marking of -0.25 for each wrong answer. Training with timed simulations in the same format makes the day feel familiar, and TestBuddy lets you [practise the International MD format](https://testbuddy.it/simulatore/san-raffaele-medicina-in-lingua-inglese) before the real thing.
